I got into pole dancing the summer after my senior year of high school. I had been diagnosed with an eating disorder my junior year, and was taken off exercise restriction (finally) that summer. I wanted to do a form of exercise that would make me feel strong and powerful so I found the studio closest to me and gave it a shot!
I’ve officially been practicing for a year, however the going has been slow because I’ve been on and off exercise restriction. I’ve been back at it for a consistent 4 months. I’m currently choreographing a routine to compete with next year, and I’m working mostly on inversions at the moment.
